Wat valt op als je deze tien mooiste platen bekijkt? Er zitten nogal wat oudgedienden in. Eleventh Dream Day en The Chills bestaan al sinds 1980, Low begon in 1993, en de meeste andere bands bestaan ook al mee dan tien jaar. Ougth is vrij nieuw, Courtney Barnett is wellicht de enige echte nieuweling in de lijst, en ook de enige die bijvoorbeeld de top-10 uit Oor haalde.
Wat kunnen we hieruit concluderen? Ik hou van recent gemaakte muziek (ik luister sowieso nauwelijks naar platen van vroeger jaren), maar dan wel liever uit bekende en beproefde muziekstromingen. Indie en nog eens indie! En, zeg nou zelf, van alles wat.
Kippenvel? The Unknowing van Eleventh Fream Day - maar van die plaat zijn alle nummers prachtig. Neil Young met een punkrandje wordt het genoemd. Klopt als een bus.
